RE500 TP Direct Line-In Possible?

I just purchased an RE500 to book the signal from my router. Little did I know that the router signal is terrible. The It's pointless for me trying to extend the signal from the router via wireless. My other thought was to run some ethernet cable into the other room and plug the line into the extender, but I am not sure if that is possible.
It has an ethernet port on the extender, but I think it is only a line-out, as opposed to line-in.
Any advice would be appreciated.
