Archer C7 V1 Very Slow AC Throughput

Setting up a local server I noticed that my LAN transfers over WIFI are very very slow at 3-4MiBps. I also noticed that the internet speed tests performed on that device over wifi are only around 30Mbps where as a client with a hardwired connection was seeing 60+.
I performed several throughput tests with IPerf3 with direct line of sight <8ft to the access point, and am consistently seeing throughput in the 5-10Mbps region. I know that I can at least hit 30 with the internet, so I'm very confused why I don't see agreement with IPerf testing, and more over why the throughput is so pitifully low.
Any ideas?
