C1900 version 2.0 Time Machine Backup

I recently purchased a C1900 ver. 2.0 (per the sticker on the box). I am trying to get the external USB HDD to act as a time machine backup disk per this article http://www.tp-link.com/no/faq-1564.html but the selection to turn on time machine is not available in the advanced USB menu. At ideas? By the way, the firmware has no available updates past the original release.
