Unable to access Motorola MB 8600 modem ui

New modem installed and activated by my ISP. My router is an Archer C5400 V2 with latest firmware. My problem is that I cannot log into the modem's interface to change the default password. I spoke with Motorola Tech and they had me clone my mac address but that didn't help. I've factory reset the router and reset the modem, even unplugged both. The Motorola tech did mention that some routers won't allow you to log into the modem.. I haven't tried connecting my computer directly to the modem yet, maybe tonight I'll try nor have I tried a different browser yet. (At work right now). Anyone with related experiences or advice.I'm hardwired. Thanks
