T8E connects to 5GHz but show as N in Task Manager

Hi. I have the Archer T8E wrls PCI-e adapter. I connect to an ASUS tri-band AC3200 router. Am using a Windows 10 v1709 x64 system.
No matter what connection I use (2.4G, 5G-1 or 5G-2) it always says I am connected to 802.11 n and never ac . I've even set the 5G-2 band at 80MHz only, and still it shows "n" in Task Manager. I am getting about 525Mbps speed (nowhere near the 1300 Max advertised).
Anyone have any ideas for me please?
