Hello I have an Archer C7 v4.0 (AC1750).

Firmware Version: 1.07 Build 20180425 rel.62587(5553)

Due to outbound NTP port blocked by my ISP (crazy I know) I set the following option:

Advanced > System Tools > Time Settings > Set Time: Manually

I enter correct date/time and click Save and it confirms save.

Anytime the router is rebooted the time resets to 1:00 AM 04/25/2018. This obviously is the date of firmware build.

This symptom to me is like dead CMOS battery on PC. But, this router is less than 1 year old surely the battery hasn't died (if there is one).

Is there a known solution for date/time reset on this router? Thank you.

CMOS battery is popular on PC motherboard, but really rare on SOHO router.
I know C7 don't have CMOS battery on PCB, only work with NTP when boot up.
It is funny that your ISP block NTP port. It seems the only way is setting up a local NTP server in your network.

Thank You for your reply. Yes I inquire at the ISP and they said NTP is blocked for security risk. I try to explain only inbound port can be at risk with ancient NTP software (amplifying attack). But, they refuse to unblock.

Now knowing the problem isn't battery, I will consider setting a NTP server inside the LAN.
