Cox gigablast has come to my neighborhood so I upgraded. The tech connects his "Ethernet" meter directly to the Docsis 3.1 modem and gets 800-900mbps consistently. But when we wire the modem to the AC-1900 router and connect his meter to a port on the router the speeds drop to 300-400mbps. Is there a way to configure this router to increase the speed of the Ethernet ports? All my cables are minimum Cat5e.

I'd appreciate any feedback as I am stumped.

First make sure you do not have QoS set on your router to prioritize certain devices, that is if you have that feature. It should be set to standard by default. Secondly you need to have Cat 6, 6a or 7 cables for Gig speeds, you need two, one for the modem / router connection and another for the router / computer connection.
