@Bestieee You computer may have switched to the 2.4Ghz as the 5Ghz signal may have dropped. Look at your available Wi-Fi networks and see if 5Ghz is visible. If so, just connect back to the 5Ghz Wi-Fi. If not, use a different device like a cell phone to verify if the 5Ghz signal is being broadcasted by your router or not.

I couldn't connect to 5Ghz for several times. And it still doesn't WORK. On my phone, it still connects to TP-LINK 5Ghz. So PLEASE give me something else to fix my adapter please.

@Bestieee

You just have to forget the Wi-Fi network, what ever profile your computer saved is not working. When you connect again it will prompt you for the wireless password again.

Hi,

Hope this works for you - I am in the United Kingdom. Windows 10 home edition, all current updates applied as of 13.07.19

Mine worked fine until I swapped my laptop HHD for a SDD. Then all ok with 2.4Ghz, but no 5Ghz showing.

So I swapped the drives back and hey presto 5Ghz worked!  So I wrote down all the settings I could find, then swapped the drives back over. 5Ghz not working. So I changed the settings to mirror those that worked on the HDD and hey presto, I now have 5Ghz.  Here are the settings:

Driver version: 5.1.34.0

Laptops buit in wifi and ethernet adapters = disable

In the Archer adapter properties:

All boxes ticked apart from Microsoft adapter multiplexor protocol.

AP Mode Force = disable

Channel Mode = 2.4 & 5Ghz

Country region 2.4 = #1 (1-13)

Country region 5 = # (36-140)

IEE802.11n = enable

Multimedia = disable

Prefer 5g = enable

Radio = enable

Roaming = disable

Selectice suspend = enable

Selective idle timeout = 5

Also ensure Hotspot 2.0 use online signup to get connected = On

Fingers crossed for you!

S

@Bestieee What worked for me was this:

Go to device manager, find the archer driver, click on properties, go to advanced, scroll down to wireless mode.

After you get to wireless mode, try some of the options. Note that in most of them, the 2.0ghz connection will disappear, but the 5.0ghz will work.

What worked for me was: IEEE 802.11ac
