Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 20200216

New AX11000 now in the house 2 days -- up close, amazing performance, farther away, the speed drops off rapidly, to near nothing in the far corner of upstairs in my 3000 sqf house.

Smart Connect enabled, Comcast 350 mbps service.

Can I add mesh components to improve the corners? Or maybe range extenders? Any other options or settings that might help?

I love the up close performance and steadiness, but I need to fix the range issue or the box is going back.

@Petes

We do not have a AX extender out yet, but you can use a AC range extender to get additional distance like the RE450 or RE650 to extender the 2.4Ghz and one of the 5GHz networks.

@Tony

Hello Tony,

I have been using AX11000 since 4 months and I get very good speed in my house which is 1400sqft. However, if I stand just outside the home almost 30ft away from the router, with the glass door closed the speed drops to 100mbps. Further more if I go to 40ft, I get less than 10mbps speed. I have tried connecting to 2.4GHz separately by disabling Smart connect. I see the same result.

Previous to TP-Link Archer AX11000, I was using Netgear AX5700 which was giving me 70mbps speed at 100ft from the router. I had problems with Netgear so had to return it.

FYI: I checked the speed inside the home with AX wifi card on laptop, manually configured 5Ghz channel to 160Hz and AX only option, I get solid 2.4Gbps speed.

Even with High transmission power why there is drop in the signal. on an average I see 400mbps speed on devices using AC even though I'm in the same room as the router?

@NaikP

Lowering the transmission speed may help with coverage. It seems odd, but that can help at some times so test other levels just to see.

I would test most combinations of width and channels.

Other settings to try would be to change the wireless modes to non AX so 2.4GHz to b/g/n and 5GHz to a/n/ac.
