Model: RE450
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have set up the Range Extender according to instructions and have all blue lights. I have two questions regarding this extender:

1) I don't notice a increase in wireless signal/

2) I notice at times, the extender overrides the Network and I get a cannot connect to the internet until I connect back to the Network connection.

I usually have to go into the router and reboot..this helps for a while.

I am also using the powerline extenders in conjunction with the extender.

Any suggestions as to why both are happening is appreciated.

My modem is : AC5400 X - V1 I have not found an update for this model.

@Oregalnc

Hi jr

1.  This is likely due to placement.  Range Extenders need to be placed in an open unobstructed location that is with in the router's signal and receiving a good signal, that is inbetween the router and the area where the extended coverage is needed.

2.  If you copied the SSID of your router this is likley the reason.  While this is desinged for seemless transistion in some cases devices will not know which AP to connect to so they won't connect to any of them.  Try changing the SSID of the extender so something unique and see if that resolves the issue.

Though to be honest with an Archer C5400X you should have no problem covering most homes in a full and strong signal.
