Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 Build 20191026 rel.16299(5553)

How do I identify devices for purposes of prioritizing some over others?   Some have names, others don't.

1. My Mac Book has a name, my Thinkpad has a name and my Brother printer has a name and some Sonos speakers have names

2. Other's do not - I know one of them is a Chromebook and others might game controller.  How can I identify them

3. Why do some show as a microphone - if I am using a USB audio device, is that what's showing up as a separate device (separate from the computer itself)?

4. What is the icon represented by a circle with 3 dots?  A speaker, maybe?  My Sonos speakers show up that way but others don't have a name

@dbland07666

If you want to identify which device is which, you need to look at your devices and see what their MAC address is. It can mean looking at the system info of the device, looking to see if there is a sticker of the MAC address, etc.

The router tries to categorize it best it could, but is not always accurate, if it can not find a suitable suggestion it puts the icon of the three dots.

@dbland07666 Oh, right!  I should have thought of that myself.  Thanks
