Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.6 Build 20200401 rel.71690 (US)

Two days ago I updated firmware to 3.0.6 Build 20200401 rel.71690 (US).

Since that, the internet connection has became unstable. I'm navigating or watching some video on YouTube or Netflix and suddenly there's an Internet cut.

I open a browser tab, write the Archer IP. I'm able to manage it. I try to reconnect manually but it fails. So, I have to just wait until it reconnects.

Before the firmware update, I didn't have this problem.

I have ADSL connection. I use a TD-8816 modem in bridge mode. And the Archer c1200 connected to it.

I don't know if this is something caused by the new firmware.

Thanks.

@Tavillo1980

If the connection drops to where it is a pattern, wire a computer instead to the modem to see if the connection still drops.

Another thing that would be recommended is to contact the ISP to have them do a line test on the DSL line.

Hi @Tony

I've changed the topology logically.

The TD-8816 is not anymore as bridge. It now manages the PPPoE connection.

After that, no more disconnection. At least, TD-8816 log does not reveal PPPoE negotiation.

In fact, I was having problems with VPN connection. With every internet disconnection my VPN client poped up asking me for login.

Today, I worked the whole day and my VPN was UP with no disconnection.

The only thing I've noted is that TD-8816 log show this entry sometimes:

7/7/2020 10:4:34> PPPoE: Recieve PADT

It's like my ISP sends a PADT. But I don't see my connection down.

I'll keep looking for this.

Best regards.
