TP-Link Archer C9 randomly rebooting :(
Morning all :)
Pretty much the same as this other thread, my Archer C9 keeps randomly rebooting ... there appears to be no rhyme or reason as to why it does :(
Have moved the Ethernet lead into another port on my Modem, and also replaced the Ethernet lead with another one. Still keeps happening .. so infuritaing. It's been fine for months, rock steady - no issues at all. No new devices connected, latest firmware installed. I've even factory reset it.

Happy to post a list of devices connected if needed - these are all iphones, MacBooks, iPads, and various Smart devices ...
There's clearly a problem, as I'm not the only one to suffer with this, so come on TP-Link support .... let's work on a solution

I have just spotted that these routers are on a 3 year warranty from TP-Link (as of Feb 2017) so a replacement is what I will be pushing for for mine, which was purchased in June 2018.
Your error logs sound like all the others I've seen and match mine. I honestly think the LED entries are just the lights coming back on after the reboot. There is no entry in the log to suggest there has even been a reboot that I can see.

I have been contacted by an engineer who has provided me with a beta firmware which is newer than the latest release. I've just installed it and been asked to leave it for a couple of days to see what happens.

@stevem999 damn man, that's a shame. ive been waiting for a few days now and the senior technician has yet to reach back out to me. interestingly enough, i ALSO bought mine the same time ^ in June 2018 (on Prime day). weird they're acting up the same way at the same time.

So latest from TP-Link is that this might be an issue with iOS 14 devices connected to the network. They have sent a link to a debugging firmware to install which to be honest I haven't done yet as I wanted to remove iOS 14 devices first and see what happens rather than doing TP-Link's device testing for them!
So, there are two family members with iOS devices so they have been disconnected for the last 6 hours or so and no reboots spotted. Be interesting to see what happens.

@stevem999 wow, that's pretty interesting. i recently updated my iphone XR to ios 14 but didn't think twice about it in regards to the network. i will try to keep mine disconnected as well and see what happens; although, drops have been less frequent the last 2 days anyways.

Yes, never thought a connected device could affect a router so badly. However you may also know that iOS 14.1 was released in the last day or so. We've been doing some experimenting in our house and both iOS devices have been updated to 14.1 and with wi-fi turned on. So far, no reboots. Maybe Apple dealt with the issue? Let us know what you find.
