Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.15

Hello, I bought a router Archer C7 about a month ago because I had some speed issues with my old router/modem.

After doing some research I found that the best setup to optimize the Archer c7 is to use my old modem/router in bridge mode, but after doing it I started to experience some issues one of them is that the velocity on the  5Ghz channel starts dropping, I have a 150 Mbps internet connection (ADSL) and now the maximum velocity that I get is 50 Mbps and using the 5Ghz wifi it usually drops up to 30 Mbps. I already tried changing the channel and modifying the parameters of the 5Ghz  network.

I have another issue, when I connect my laptop to the archer c7 through LAN it cannot identify the network.

@dmata24

Before you switched the modem/router to bridge what speeds were you getting?

If your previous setup was working before I would probably stay that?

If speeds return the LAN port would be the next thing to look at.

Before using bridge mode I had a maximum speed of 80 Mbps but I had the same issue of the wifi constantly dropping.

For the speed, you can try enabling NAT Boost (Advanced > System Tools > System Parameters) to see if that helps.

If connections continue to drop, make sure you are running the latest firmware for your region. Also, see if drops are just happening on one device or many. If all wireless devices are dropping I would recommend reaching to your local support team in case there is an internal issue with the router.

@Tony

I checked my router and I already had the NAT enabled. Maybe I would try to go with the older configuration.  On this configuration, if I connect the archer C7 to one of LAN ports of the modem/router and this last one is not in bridge mode which will be the work of the archer c7?
