Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Because they are easier to find than a wired router, I use a wifi router with the wifi section turned off as my main router.  This is because the location near my cable modem and Ethernet hub is in the basement where any wifi signal won't travel far.  I then use access points in a better location for my wifi signal.

I currently have a C7 ac1750 router (with wifi turned off) in use as my wired router. To make a long story short, I was going to replace it with a C50 (AC1200) router.  Considering that wouldn't be using the wifi portion of this unit at all, is there any advantage of using the C7 (AC1750) over the less expensive C50 (AC1200) as the main wired router for my network?

The biggest drawback would be if your internet speeds are higher than 100 Mbps, as the C50 only has Fast Ethernet ports and not gigabit ports like the C7.
