Model: TL-WPA7510 KIT
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi

I use the TL-WPA7510 KIT V2. When i connect directly to the router I get c. 950mbs wired and 500mbs wifi via the 5Ghz wi fi connection.

In one of the rooms where i connect to the TL-WPA7510 KIT V2 kit, i get c. 100mbs voa both wired and wireless. I have 1 gigabit internet.

The TPLINK application shows connection speed of 430mbs.

Why am i getting such a slow internet connection of 100mbs for the internet via the powerline adapter if the adapter is connected at a speed of 430mbs and my ISP supports double that speed?

Anything i can do in the settings?

Its a similar issue in other rooms in the house.

The link speed in the utility does not equate to the real world speed you will see in the end. What you can try to do is to move the powerline adapter to a different power outlet as performance depends on the wiring, distance, interference.

As a test, you can move the powerline to the same room as the powerline adapter connected to the router to see how it performs in that setting.

@Tony

Hi

Thanks. I decided to try something and moved both the powerline adaptors (i.e the one i connect to the modem and the one i normally use) on to the same 6 point extender. In theory therefore if they are both sat on the same extender i assumed it would generate the fastest speeds as its within the same adaptor.

It slightly increased to 140mbps versus the 110 i normally get. However its still very very far off the 1 GHz of the capability.

Is there anything in the settings that can be done?

Powerline adapters are known to not work well with any sort of extender be it a power strip or surge protector. If possible I would make sure the powerline adapters are connected directly to the wall outlet.
