Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.16 Build 20201029

I have the following setup:

  1. Router 1 (Archer A7) connected to Modem (Router 1 IP: 192.168.1.1/24)
  2. Router 2(Archer A7) WAN port is connected to the LAN port of Router 1 (Router 2 IP: 192.168.2.1/24)
  3. All my IOTs are connected to Router 1 and all others are connected to Router 2
  4. Router 2 attached MAC address can ping Router 1 MAC address but not vice versa - works brilliantly  fine

However, I want to ALLOW

"specific" IP from Router 1 (as an example say 192.168.1.211)

connect to

"specific" IP 192.168.2.101 in Router 2

Can anybody walk me thru the port forwarding or rule I must setup to accomplish the above?

Hi Tony,

Thanks - this worked.

Interestingly, when I posed the "same" question to tplink customer support this is what I got:

@vskus

In router 2 configure a port forwarding rule for IP 192.168.2.101 for whichever port that IP uses depending on the service: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1541/

So say for example I wanted to access the device behind router 2 via port 8080. I would make the following port forwarding rule in router 2:

Service Type: name it anything
External Port: 8080
Internal IP: 192.168.2.101
Internal Port: 8080
Protocol: TCP

Then when on a computer in router 1, you would use the IP router 2 got from router 1 (let's assume router 2 got 192.168.1.100). I would open my web browser and use:

192.168.1.100:8080

You use the IP router 2 got from router 1 followed by the port you forwarded in router 2.
