Hi there!

I just got this routeryesterday and set it up, i just used the auto setup and it worked just fine. Then i look through all the settings to to make sure its running on 2,4GHz but I dont see any 2.4GHz or 5GHz settings.

So is it right to assume that this router operates in the 2.4GHz range only and not 5GHz, or are there settings to pick which I want?

If the router listed is the one you have, then yes, it is ONLY a 2.4Ghz router.

See the Spec's @ https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/tl-wr940n/#specifications

WIRELESS
Standards	Wi-Fi 4 IEEE 802.11n/b/g 2.4 GHz
WiFi Speeds	N450 2.4 GHz: 450 Mbps (802.11n)

Also your router manual is here, https://www.tp-link.com/us/user-guides/TL-WR940N_V6/

As far as SSID's, there are only 2, the standard 2.4Ghz, and 1 2.4Ghz Guest SSID.

You can changes things like Security and some wireless parameters, but it is only for the 2.4Ghz band.
