Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I use two internet modems that do no allow bridge mode into an ER605

Can the AX3000 be used as a mesh system behind the ER605 so I have failover on mesh?  Google WIFI can't do this, was wondering if TP-Link can.

Thanks

I suppose you're referring to OneMesh since you want to use a home grade router like AX3000.

If that's the case you should know that AX3000 doesn't support OneMesh.

Here's a list of OneMesh compatible routers.

I don't know what onemesh is, according to Amazon, AX3000 is a router and wifi, the wifi being a mesh system. My question is, can the router portion of the AX3000 be placed in bridge mode, so the network IP addresses come from a router, essentially putting the entire AX3000 in wifi extender mode as a mesh. There are benefits to me if it can be used in this way. Sorry if I confused anyone.

The blue text in posts are hyperlinks and if you click them, you'll see details about OneMesh and other staff.

Archer AX3000 in Amazon, could be anything like AX50, AX53 or AX55 - they are all labeled as AX3000.

If it's about AX50 - it doesn't support OneMesh. The other two - AX53 and AX55 support OneMesh in router mode only.

Both AX53 and AX55 devices don't support OneMesh in AP mode - the way you like to use them. Here's the difference between router mode and AP mode.

So the short answer is no, you can't do what you want with any of these devices, unless introducing a double NAT in your network is not an issue for you.

The other option you have, is to use a Deco mesh, which can support mesh network in AP mode - I believe that is more suitable in your case.

Thank you so much! Yes, Deco Mesh in AP mode, I didn't realize those were hyperlinks. I was able to go read the documentation you referenced, thank you so much!
