Can I give the extended network the same name as the main network by deleting the _EXT? Will this also my devices to seamlessly switch from one to the other? I have a netgear router.
Adding your Extended Networks to have the same SSID will allow your devices to automatically switch between the two. Most modern day devices are much better at roaming between nodes, however some devices may "Stick" to the Range Extender if it does not negotiate correctly. The SSID is different by default so that users can make sure that they are connecting to the network provided by the RE when attempting to connect to the User Interface of the RE.
