Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I bought a used Archer router on Craigs List. I registered with email.

When I try to change the router settings, it says "this router is not bound to the current TP-link ID. Enter the router's login password to bind for management"

When I enter the 8-digit number, it says login failed.

How can I resolve this?

Hold the reset button on the router for a full 30 seconds.  Log into the Web UI (tplinkwifi.net).  Default credentials are admin/admin.  Set a new admin password and complete the configuration of the router.  While in the Web UI click on Advanced at the top then look for TP-Link ID in the side menu.  Sign into the TP-Link ID account you setup and that should be it.
