Hello,

7 days ago, I purchased/setup the TP-Link BE19000 using default/suggested settings. QoS and other "advanced" features settings are not in use. I wanted to see how this perfromned basic functrions. After 7 days of use,  I observed the following issues:

  • The router's 5 Ghz band is not visible or accessible on any device, e.g., iPhone 13 pro, PC Win 10, Macbook Pro, and several others. Confusingly, only the 2.4 Ghz and the 5Ghz IoT bands are visible and accessible.
  • Passwords for each follow TP-Link Guidence guidence on "special characters"
  • Mac connected to router via CAT 7 ethernet cable drops the connection repeatedly, with no interruption in the ISP's signal

I am concerned by these issues and am considering whether to return what may turn out to be a really expensive brick for a refund. But before I do, I was wondering if anyone else encountered similar issues with the TP-Link BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router.

If so, were the issues resolvedto your liking?

Or is it better/easier return it and buy an altogether different/better rotuter (considering the $$$).

Thank you in advance,

Umrk

@Umrk111 I do not have any of the issues mentioned, for the 5Ghz band not showing do you have "Smart Connect" enabled ?

@Sammael1069 Hello Sammael, Thank you for replying to my post.

I don't have smart connect active on any of the active WIFI bands, which are:

1. 2.4 Ghz

2. 2.4 Ghz IoT

3. 5.0 Ghz IoT

The three bands above bands are all immediately accesible to all my devices. In fact, I am forced to use the 5 Ghz IoT band because the "real" 5Ghz band is invisible/not brodcasting/not working. And I haven't hidden this band either.

I am concerned that right out of the box, this brand new router already is not working as expected. I am awaiting customer support to assess this. But I am losing confidence in this routter each day I have it.  Really, I would expct a brend new device to work.

@Umrk111 try using a CAT 6 or CAT 8 Ethernet cable. CAT 7 is NOT a recognized ethernet standard, and I've seen lot of people have issues with them, including dropped Ethernet connections and WiFi issues because of bad shielding in those cables. I'm using CAT 6 cables with no issues on WiFi or wired.

How many IoT devices do you have that use the 5 GHz radio?  The vast majority of IoT devices only use 2.4 GHz.
