Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20151218 Rel.58739

I have new 2Gbps Optical Fiber Internet service.  I would like to port 2 of the router ports over to my TP-Link TL-SG1016DE ver 2 switch. It appears "Trunking" and "LAG" are interchangeable terms.  My switch has a Trunking tab, but I can't find "LAG" anywhere.

I configured Trunking with only port 16 connected to the router, with Trunking on Trunk #1 containing Ports 15 & 16.  When I connect port 15 to the router, I lose Internet access everywhere on my network.  NOTE that the fiber internet provider provides only rudimentary access to configuration in the router... I cannot access any port or orther advanced configuration...Does the router have to have the 2 ports Trunked / LAGed to match the switch end configuration?

  @EnGarde

Here's the configuration guide for LAG (page 28) on easy smart switches. Keep in mind that this is a static LAG (not an LACP).

You need to mind two things:

Ffirst - both side need to support Static LAG/Port Trunk.

Second - the port that you want to put into the group should have the same properties, if you are not sure about that, please do the LAG before you configure other settings.
