@Elgibby01
Thanks for reaching out. I understand you're experiencing much slower internet speeds than expected on your Deco Mesh network, even though your Xfinity cable plan is for 600 Mbps down/35 Mbps up. Let's go through some steps to help identify and resolve the issue:
1. Accurately Measure Your Speed
• Use https://www.speedtest.net or the Speedtest app/CLI (https://www.speedtest.net/apps/) to test your speed.
• First, connect a PC directly to your ISP modem/router (the Xfinity XB Gateway) to confirm you are actually receiving the full speed from your provider.
2. Verify Wired (Ethernet) Speed on Deco
• Connect your PC directly to the main Deco unit using Ethernet cables that are CAT5E or above.
• Ensure the Ethernet ports on your modem, Deco, and PC support your subscribed bandwidth (e.g., 1GE ports for 500 Mbps, 2.5GE ports for 2 Gbps).
3. Test Wireless Speed
• Make sure your phone or laptop is connected to the nearest Deco unit and is using the high-speed 5GHz or 6GHz band, not 2.4GHz.
• Ensure no other devices are using high bandwidth (such as streaming or downloading) during your test.
4. Improve Speed on Deco
• If Ethernet speed is slow, try different Ethernet cables (CAT5E or above) and different ports on the main Deco.
• In the Deco app, go to MORE > ECO Mode and ensure ECO Mode is disabled.
• Go to MORE > QoS and ensure QoS is disabled. If you don't see an on/off switch, set QoS to standard and remove all priority devices.
• Go to MORE > Advanced > NAT forwarding and disable SIP ALG and UPnP.
• Try a few different speedtest servers, as some may provide better results.
