Deco connectivity speeds
I have a main and one satellite. The modem was connected to the main Deco, and then I had two wired connections from the main to a patch panel for the 2 main computers in different parts of the house. Then the satellite was connected with an ethernet cable from the wall outlet (backhaul seems to be fine). And the computer is then connected from the satellite with an ethernet cable.
All was working smoothly until 10 days to 2 weeks ago.
Started noticing connectivity issues - error messages on Amazon Prime when trying to stream (WiFi), web pages slow to load (wired devices), etc.
To keep this short, called Spectrum and the modem seems to be fine. However, for the Deco i did follow the instructions to change the DNS Address(es) to Manual, hoping that might provide a fix.
After trying a multitude of other different things, here's where I'm at:
• With the full set-up above, my wired download speed is less than 1Mbps, but upload is about 12 Mbps (crazy).
• If I connect directly from the modem only to one computer, I can get the 470 to 480 Mbps upload as expected.
• If I connect the modem to the main Deco and only one computer, I can get still get the 470 to 480 Mbps.
• As soon as I connect the second cable from the main to the patch panel to connect the satellite, upload again drops to less than 1 Mbps - for both computers. But Wireless on my phone is still in the 480+ range.
Any thoughts of the set-up above being wrong, am I missing something, or ...? Help is much appreciated.
