Hello,I have had my Archer C7 AC1750 for about a year now. Paying for 50mbps download and on wireless right next to the router I am getting ~48mbps. The problem I am having is when hard wired into any of the ports in the back with cat 6 (have tried different cables) I am only getting ~ 4-5 Mbps. Not sure or why the speed is dropping 40mbps over hardware. Thank you for the help.

I am having the same issue, I also have the V2 but already have frimware 3.15.1 Build 160719 Rel.57530n. I get full download/upload speeds when on the 5Ghz band. On the 2.4 Ghz band the download speed is aobut 50% slower, but the upload speed is still 100%. But when I use wired Ethernet my download speed drops down below 10% of my target speed. Interestingly enough my upload speed remains close to 100% regardless of whether I'm on 5Ghz, 2.4Ghz or Wired Ethernet.

May I know your network topology?

Arris Cable Modem TG1672G provided by Time Warner Cable (Spectrum) 60mbps down and 5 mbps up. Cat6 patch to Archer C7 V2 AC1750 WAN port. LAN is Cat6 cable to a single Windows 10 desktop PC with Realtek Network adapter. Printers and USB drives will be added later to the mix. Several wireiess devices including HD Audio Receiver, Sharp 4K Television, Echo Dot, two laptops and occasional smartphones and guest devices.

There are many factors which could influence a drop in speed, be it over WiFi or over wired connections. As for my Archer C7 (HW version v2.0, latest firmware) speed up to 1 Gbps in both directions over the wire works perfectly. This is upload bandwidth of the Archer C7, measured on a Mac connected to it:

This is download bandwidth, measured at the uplink switch:

This is typical real-life bandwidth for copying files from a MacBookPro to a Linux server, where the server's hardware is the limiting factor here (~ 760 Mbps):

To tell what's probably going wrong in other setups, much more information would be needed such as speed test or measuring method used, capabilities of the devices' hardware, real throughput of the ISP's network, etc.
