@Carl if you read my reply more thoroughly you would've read that scenario 1 and 3 are very similar to you you suggested. I will run an Ethernet cable from my switch in the basement no matter what....

@SethMG out of curiousity, do you have full access to your verizon gateway? are you using it as your router or have you turned off its routing and using the deco as the router.
