I purchased three HS100 Smart Plugs in December. Two were hardware version 2.0. One of them was hardware version 1.0. The two hardware version 2.0 plugs always worked perfectly. I had no problems, whatsoever, keeping them onto and keeping them on my wireless network. The lone hardware version 1.0 was a bear to get onto my network. And it would keep falling off the network for no apparent reason. It was like the two hardware versions were two completely separate devices. One hardware version was a breeze to setup while the other (older) hardware version was as cantankerous as could be. Why would this be? Was hardware version 1.0 a complete dud while all problems were resolved in hardware version 2.0? I ended up sending the hardware version 1.0 plug back to Amazon and received a 2.0 back in return. Once again, for the third time, the hardware version 2.0 plug practically jumped onto my wireless network. I simply cannot believe there could be so much difference in the same item with two different hardware versions.
