Wow. My HS300 plug is drawing 35 watts with nothing plugged into it yet. I want to rethink just how much total wattage Kasa draws before investing in more of these products. The live agent could not give me an answer as to what the normal idle draw is on this or any of their other products. Very disappointing.

@bigr14 I don't see anything like that (35w no-load draw) on any of the four HS300's I have!  How are you noting that?  (Via the app, each outlet has its own statistics; are you measuring it with an "external" device the HS300 is plugged into?)

Might want to be sure the firmware is up-to-date.

@Dan_C.

I heard back from the company yesterday and they said the no load should be about 1 watt. So, I deleted the device and started over unplugging and trying again. Rechecked and sure enough they are correct so my meter was off. That is much better!!!
