TP-Link was recently made aware of a concern related to TP-Link’s Kasa and Tapo Smart Cameras connected to Wi-Fi networks powered by Spectrum routers.  Specifically, the router in question is the SAX1V1S.  The concern is related to the cameras possibly losing connection to the router's Wi-Fi Network. TP-Link has investigated this concern and found that the source of the concern is related to a recent firmware update pushed to the SAX1V1S by Spectrum. 

 

While TP-Link is working with Spectrum to have them provide a permanent fix to their equipment, we have taken steps to address the concern on our end as well.  While these efforts may help temporarily resolve the concern, we cannot guarantee the concern will remain resolved until Spectrum issues its permanent fix.

 

If you are experiencing this concern and a simple power cycle of the router did not resolve the concern, we would like to welcome you to test the fix we are working on.  All you need to do is contact TP-Link support and provide your camera's MAC address.  If the testing is successful, we will push the firmware out as a general update.
