Firmware Version:

I tried the rice bag trick like you do with a water logged phone to no avail. A big storm passed through and blew the camera off its magnetic mount (underneath the carport). I found it hanging from its solar panel cable. I want to open the case and try to dry it out before giving up and buying a new one. This was only up for a couple of weeks. Any help will be appeciated.

Hey @RodgerW,

While the devices are weatherproofed, their protection doesn't help with being submerged. Unfortunately, there is no official way to open the cameras, and doing so would void the warranty.

Your best action would be to turn the camera off and place the camera in a bag with paper towels and silica packets to absorb the moisture slowly.

It is surprising to hear that the camera fell off in teh first place since the magnet is so strong. How was the camera mounted? At what angle was it on the mount? And how large was the storm that came through?
