Initially set this up for an LED lamp which would never turn on, but the timer would turn it off if I turned it on manually.  Concluded that the touch on-off switch was the problem and gave up (electrician more or less confirmed this).  Unplugged the plug.  I have a different lamp with a toggle on-off switch which works with a mechanical timer.  Trying to set up the Kasa smart plug but am having no luck.  A device is shown in the app which I set up initially, but now says the device is unreachable, may be powered off or out of network range.  So I tried to add a new device.  It's plugged in, blinking orange and blue, and according to my phone, I am connected to the TP-Link network (TP-Link _Smart Plug_9884).  However, in the Kasa app, the device cannot connect to the network.  I've looked at other posts where people seem to have the same problem and either they get it to work, or it never works.  I have Eero Mesh wi-fi so signal should be strong.  I can't find any way to delete the original device from the app, even after reading several posts about this.

I am ready to throw these away.  I chose these because I wanted something that I could fix the on-off times if the power goes out.  If this is supposedly one of the best smart devices out there, there is a massive opportunity for someone to come up with something better.  The bar doesn't seem to be very high.  Nothing should be this difficult to use, especially a timer.   Any suggestions before I trash these?
