How do I sync my existing Kasa KD110 doorbell to my new Tapo H100 hub - so that the chime will sound from both the KD110 chime module as well as through the Tapa H100 hub?

  @KentRda,

Have you tried to create a smart action to do this? After you configure your KD110 and chime normally, you will want to ring the H100 hub via a Smart Action. I believe that when creating a Smart Action, there is a 'Doorbell Pressed' trigger available, which you can then use with the 'Ring Hub' Action.

  @Riley_S Using the Tapo app, there is not a Smart Action, "Doorbell Pressed" It says it is not available on my device. That really does not seem right. The only options are for motion sensing. Is this really true that a smart doorbell can not trigger actions when the doorbell is pressed. It seems like a really big over site.

  @KentRda

I found the same to be true - that there is not a Smart Action in the Kasa app or the Tapo app.  My original intent was to have the chime in the Tapo hub be an additional chime module so that we could hear the chime in the basement of our home.  However that appears to be impossible.   The only way to get an additional chime module for a Kasa KD110 doorbell/camera is to buy another KD110, then, throw away the camera and keep (and use) the chime module.  TPLink says the you can add additional KD110 chime modules (for more chimes in your home), but they won't sell the chime modules separately.  Come'on TPLink!

  @KentRda That was exactly what I was trying to do. If the doorbell can't initiate a smart action, what makes it a smart doorbell then? Sounds like it is a doorbell, which a camera.

It does suggest the Tapo D230 but that is a battery operated one and I would prefer a wired one. The Tapo D130 looks similar and does not work with a hub.

  @Typo,

I will see what i can either recommend as a feature to my team, or find for information on compatability for this. It is a bit of a gray area when it comes to using the Smart Actions in the Tapo app for Kasa Devices - as the devices do not yet have one-to-one feature compatibility with their Tapo counterpart, especially for Smart Actions. If there is only motion detection available, then it wouldnt be possible to ring the hub. The Tapo Doorbells do have additional detections available to them, as can be seen in this FAQ for our Tapo Doorbell: https://www.tapo.com/us/faq/410/

  @KentRda

TP Link.   It would be fantastic if you could recommend to TP-Link that they sell the chime modules for the KD-110 separately.  There are MANY posts on the internet where owners of the KD-110 would like to have additional modules so that they can hear the doorbell ring in different areas of their homes. It would also be a great opportunity for TP-Link to make some extra money without developing a new product. (the chime module).  If TP-link made the chime modules available separately, they could also notify all existing/registered owners of the KD-110's that additional chimes would be available..  Win-win!
