Unable to dim Kasa KP405 outdoor dimmer

I have a Kasa KP405 smart outdoor dimmer plug that I'm trying to control with my Tapo S200D smart remote dimmer switch. When I try to create an automation, my only options are to turn the plug on/off and to turn the plug on to a specified brightness. I want to be able to control the brightness by turning the switch. Why would a dimming option not be available in the automation?

@mprestia I have this same issue. Did you find a solution? Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to achieve slow dimming by continuously rotating the button? Unfortunately, this functionality is not supported.

Thanks for your response. No, I don't intend to have it be continuous. Perhaps a bit more context will help:
The Kasa smart switches have preset brightness level settings 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. These are accessible via the physical buttons on the smart switch itself, in the Kasa app, and via integration to Home Assistant. Meaning, one can set up automations in Home Assistant to perhaps set the Kasa smart switches to preset brightness level 3 at 4pm each day.
However, even though the KP405 has this same preset brightness level functionality accessible via the Kasa app, it's not an entity for Home Assistant. It's as though the KP405 doesn't have brightness capabilities nor preset brightness level capabilities in the eyes of Home Assistant, only on / off.
Thanks again for your support.

Home Assistant isn't a supported third-party by Kasa. I'm afraid we don't provide support to unofficial product usages.

Thanks, Wayne. I'm open to the automation being built using the Kasa app, Home Assistant, or truly any other solution so long as we can make it work :-).
How may we accomplish this automation leveraging the Kasa app (leveraging HS220 Kasa smart dimmer switch to also set brightness level/setting on KP405)?
Thanks again for your time & efforts.

Through Kasa automation, you can make the plug automatically dim by setting various triggers, such as a specific time or changes in the status of other smart devices. Common questions about Smart Actions in the kasa app
If you want to link the dimming feature of these two devices together, I'm afraid this is not supported.
