It would be great to have a alarm system setup with Tapo sensors, similar to the Ring Alarm, with an option to add professional monitoring. Also, integration with Z-Wave smoke alarms would be great too!

Hey @cwild1014,

This is something that we have seen requests for in the past and is something that we are getting closer to hardware-wise but I do not think there are any current plans for a professional monitoring option. As much as it is not the same, we did see the Local AI processing being developed at CES which at the very least brings a new level of awareness to what's happening in your home.

For something similar to a Ring Alarm (minus the monitoring), what are the features/devices you are really looking for?

Smoke Alarms are always tricky because of one, the safety implications of relying on smart functionality for such a device; and two, the fact that smart smoke alarms never really took hold and were predominantly controlled by a few brands previously. It doesn't help that Z-Wave is realistically a niche tech at a DIY level and never took hold. Personally, I am hoping that we will at least begin to see a few matter-enabled smoke alarms enter the market over the next few years, as this would provide a bit more 'mainstream' smart control over smoke alarms.

  @Riley_S

Professional monitoring would be at the top of my list as a necessity when shopping for an alarm system. I would need a way for a central station to be able to contact police and/or fire based on alarms triggered, if unable to be verified by me.

As for devices, the standard contact sensors, motion sensors, glass break sensors, wall keypad for arm/disarm, etc.

Smoke alarms/carbon monoxide detectors would be great! I currently use the First Alert Z-Wave ones with my Ring alarm and they work well.

I would really love to see a TP-Link alarm system, but again the professional monitoring would be a must.

Thanks for listening!
