Firmware Version:

So...I've been trying and trying, and can't get this to work right. I got the hs210 kit, and by all reports, replacing the first switch in the 4way setup should work fine. But, it doesn't. It does connect to wifi.  First try from app turns lights on, shows on on the app.  Turn off on the app, nothing.  Turn off again on app, shows turned on on the app, lights off.  Double press needed from app every time. Operates fine from actual switch except for reporting to the app.  Also does not report state to the app when other switches are used. I verified the proper wiring at the 4 way and 3 way dumb switches. Allegedly people have gotten this to work without a companion smart switch, but I can't get it to work. I've deleted and reinstalled the app, made sure of no firmware updates, and I'm out of ideas.

  @Socobandit

Please note that the HS210 switch is not advertised as 4-way compatible, nor has it been tested in 4-way configurations. I'm afraid the feasibility cannot be guaranteed.

  @Wayne-TP has anyone identified a solution for this?  My garage lights have 2 4-ways and 2 3-ways. I tried installing the hs210 in place of either 3-way but have the same issue. Will installing 2 3-way smart swit work?  Is there a 4 way smart switch?

If you need to use an HS210 with a dumb switch to build a 3-way, the HS210 should connect to the load wire and the dumb switch connects to the load wire.

Refer to this guide if you plan to use two HS210s to build the 3-way connection. HS210 Installation FAQ Content

We have a Tapo switch that can work in a 4-way circuit, the Tapo S515. Check this guide to find out whether it fits your needs. How to install your Tapo Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch (Tapo S515)
