So today 7/28/2025 I noticed I wasn't getting any notifications, so I check the Tapo app and click on the doorbell to see live view and it pops up saying the battery is critically low and to recharge the battery, so at first I dismiss the notice since it suppose to be on hardwired power, little later I check it again to see if anything changed and I get the same message but now it saying the battery so low the doorbell is going to power off soon, well I'm at work and can't really do anything about it so I just close the app, later when I checked I noticed the app says the camera is now offline, so I would look at it when I got home and charge it if needed, well quite of few hours has passed by and I get off and come home and I approach the door to enter and the doorbell notification goes off, which I'm thinking how can it be going off if the doorbell turned off, so I check the app and yup says the doorbell is offline, so I close the app and reopen the app and now the camera says it is online and says the battery is 94% (which is always said that) I click on the doorbell to see if I can view the live feed and I can, so I go into the settings, and it doesn't mention anything about being on battery power and says I'm hardwired and connected to home electric.

I do have the doorbell recording to the H200 hub instead of onboard SD card, but has been set up like that May 2025 without any issues.

Was this some kind of glitch or something, because as far as I know, even if did lose hardwire power and switced to battery and then back to hardwire power, the hardwire only trickle charges the battery and it would not go from dead battery back to 94% in only a few hours.

I have had the D225 since September of 2025 and while I did switch to recording be saved on the H200 hub, I've been using that since May of 2025 without any issues. Should this be something I should be worried about or have to see if happens again?

This doesn't seem usual. We recommend enabling the diagnostics mode on your doorbell, if this happens again, export a camera and an app log, send it to the support team for further assistance. Contact Technical Support
