24-7 recording

It would be nice to have 24-7 recording available for the d210 doorbell .
I've installed an HDD into the h500 and now have 24-7 recording available for all my cameras, but not for the doorbell.
Thanks

It's worth noting that as a battery-powered doorbell, its battery capacity cannot sustain the huge power consumption caused by continuous recording. That's why this device does not support this feature. Imagine using a mobile phone to record, and the phone might overheat in just under an hour (some phones would forcefully quit recording). The battery would also be drained in a few hours if the operation continued.

Thanks for your response.
I have my doorbell plugged in for a continuous charge since day one. No overheating, no problems whatsoever.
So again, it would be nice to have 24-7 recording on doorbells. Your reasoning doesn't really hold up. Phones can record forever, that's kind of silly.
What if I just manually pushed record, how long would it record?

Using a battery-powered camera while constantly plugged in is not a common use behavior, nor is it the intended design of such devices. I suggest adding this information to the original description of your post, users who share the same thoughts can vote for it.
If you need this feature, take a look at our hardwired doorbells, the continuous recording feature is available when the doorbell is hardwired, such as the Tapo D130 and Tapo D225.

I have my doorbell plugged in for continuous charge. I had hoped this might "fool" it into 24-7 recording, but nope.
I'm considering buying a security camera and using it for the continuous recording.
It seems like overkill, but I want continuous recording at the front door.

@Wayne-TP I don't have doorbell wiring, but if the other doorbell would do 24-7, I'd get it. My understanding tho, is that it needs to be hardwired to an existing doorbell which I do not have.
What should I do? I need 24-7 at the front door.
Would plugging in the other doorbell for continuous charge trigger the 24-7 recording on my h500?
Are there any Tapo video doorbells that don't need to be wired into an existing doorbell to record 24-7 on my h500?
I and others have, in the past, used old smartphones as security cameras, plugged in for a continuous charge, so I didn't think twice about doing the same thing with this doorbell .
Thanks for your continued help, I've recently purchased quite a few Tapo products and so far, this has been the only issue, everything else has been outstanding.

What is actually required is the available wiring for a doorbell in your circuit. An existing doorbell chime isn't necessary when installing the Tapo doorbell. In fact, the existing chime must be bypassed if you want to enable the continuous recording feature on the Tapo doorbell.
As mentioned, this feature is only available for doorbells that support hard wiring, regardless of the video storage location.
