Model: KP303
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.2

WIth the install of 1.1.2 on my KP303, previously connected to home assistant was no longer accessible from home assistant.

Reset it and re-added with both the Kasa and Tapo apps. Works fine from the apps, but if I attempt to add it back to home assistant it fails when trying to authenticate.  I have dozens of other kasa & tapo devices connected successfully to home assistant, both before and after the KP303 issue. I even have a second KP303 connected, it is still on 1.0.9.  This is the first time I have encountered a kasa device that will not connect.  Any advice?

@MrFlexo I'm having a similar issue with the KP303 firmware 1.1.2 and Home Assistant. It looks like the issue is that python-kasa doesn't support version 1.1.2 :-(
https://python-kasa.readthedocs.io/en/stable/SUPPORTED.html

  • KP303

    • Hardware: 1.0 (UK) / Firmware: 1.0.3

    • Hardware: 2.0 (US) / Firmware: 1.0.3

    • Hardware: 2.0 (US) / Firmware: 1.0.9

I've opened an issue on the python-kasa GitHub page: https://github.com/python-kasa/python-kasa/issues/1574 Feel free to add any thoughts or details there.

@MrFlexo I' ve able to control my devices again, I enable third-party access in Kasa App and the devices starts working again.
