Model: Tapo D225
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.19

I have a new Tapo D225 installed (replacing an Ecobee Video Doorbell, if helpful). Everything works except for the Always-On option (which is the main feature I bought it for -- to use RTSP and ONVIF functions).

I installed the jumper on the chime, rebooted the doorbell, but I still cannot turn on the Mode and create the credentials in the Advanced Menu. It just stays grayed out.

Image of chime box attached. The white add-on is the Ecobee doorbell adapter that the technician installed previously. I did not touch any of those wires and only added the jumper between front and trans.

I'm not even sure what to try next?

Verify the output of the transformer meets the requirements of the Tapo doorbell: 8-24V AC, 10-40VA, 50/60Hz (AC Powered).

Go through the installation guide again in the app, make sure every option is selected correctly.

Tapo app > Tapo doorbell camera's Device Settings > User Guide > Mounting Guide

  @Wayne-TP will do.

1) is there a way to tell without getting in the walls? Would the debug logs include electrical readings?

2) do i remove the device and redo the startup wizard from scratch?

Going through the installation guide doesn’t require physically reinstalling the product. However, if it’s not too much trouble, I recommend checking the physical connections as well, in case something went wrong.
