I am also experiencing this issue. My whole house is setup with Kasa lightbulbs and I am unable to control them with my Google home automations. This has functionally made them unusable in my home and I am extremely frustrated.
Please fix this soon.
After logging in when binding with Google Home I am reaching a message that says:
404. That's an error.

I stumple on a fix by not following their process. I connected the wifi plugs directly to Google Home ... not connecting the KASA apps. I wish I remember what I did so I could tell you. What ever I did once I did connected by plugs all my light switches I installed since were connect to my google app without me doing anything extra.
Good luck
