Kasa 3-way smart switch incorrect on/off state in app
I installed a 3-way HS210 smart switch.
Its physical button works as expected, but the mobile app control is messed up.
1, The on/off state does not reflect the actual state.
2, I need to press the button twice to turn on or turn off the light. Basically only the 1st and 3rd operation works.

Have you tried to see if there is a firmware update that might fix the issue? Maybe your running the switch in local only mode?

What's also weird is that I don't see the option to update firmware. There is only one LED light switch in the device details. But my other good smart switch has a rich list of operations.

In the Kasa app, in the menu at the bottom click on "Me" you should then see the "Firmware Update" option

That one always says everything is already up to date.
I have 9 Kasa devices at home and I'm generally happy with them except this one.
I bought this one because I always forgot to shut down the garage light so my wife keeps complaining about it. I was hoping I could set some auto-turn-off setting but now the on/off state is out of sync so it becomes useless. I even tried to set double turn-off or tripple, by fliping the state back and forth, but it did not help.
