DL100 Battery Drain
My DL100 has drained a brand new set of batteries in just a couple of weeks. Any recommendations for a different type or great brand that will last longer? I am going to go broke buying batteries at this rate

Try to turn off the WiFi connection on the door lock (remove the battery cover, you will see a WiFi ON/OFF switch), check whether the battery is still draining fast. While the WiFi is off, you can still control the door lock locally via Bluetooth.
I would recommend performing the test at night while everyone is home, and leaving it overnight. Make sure to monitor the door lock's power consumption under normal conditions first, then you can make a comparison.

Wayne, why can I not get the tp link devices like the smart lock and the doorbell to warn me when their batteries are low? The smart home automations don't even allow for a simple trigger like 'if battery is below 10% then' and that's just entry level stuff.
Why can't the smart lock allow for timed locking? I want my front door always locked after a certain time, but again, the automations don't allow for that.

Switching to bluetooth did not in fact resolve battery drain issues.
On 12/8 I replaced the batteries in my DL100 and disabled wifi. I am at 29% today, meaining I've lost 3.5+% per day. For a device I don't manipulate remotely very often, that seems like a huge battery drain.

I have an open case, and I was told that even though your ad claims 7 months for the included batteries or 10 months on BLE, that what your advertising *really* meant was "install expensive lithium batteries to get 7-10 months". I have followed their advice and installed lithium batteries, but do you not see a huge disconnect between stated battery life and actually requiring lithium batteries to get more than one month of life out of them?

@sroza1
Please keep this thread going with whatever you find out. I'm having the same problem and don't have access to the building where the lock is installed so frequently changing the batteries is a problem. I was hoping to allow workers in via the lock but it keeps dying within a few weeks. Please update here if you find the lithium batteries make any difference.

I think support's answer actually ends up being the answer. I'm just a bit disappointed that none of the materials essentially says to use lithium to get the stated performance.
With regular alkaline batteries I lost 3.5% per day. With lithium batteries on deck, I'm at 100% still on my 4th day.
Thus far, I can suggest using energizer lithium batteries. Also, my wifi is enabled, so I have it at full capability.
