Model: ES20M
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.6

It appears I am not the only one with this issue. Out of nowhere my motion dimmer switches will just become unresponsive. If they were on at the time the lights are not able to be turned off and if it was off lights don't turn on. The only way to resolve is to press the "Restart" button. I refuse to do an RMA as I had done one once before for a HS200 smart switch that was a major hassle and cost me as much in shipping as a new device would. I know this is not a one off issue as others have reported and it has nothing to do with my setup. I have 10 other Kasa switches that aren't smart motion dimmers and they all work flawlessly (minus the HS200 that broke). Please do a FW update to address this extremely annoying bug.

Do you use any open-source platforms (e.g. Home Assistant) to manage Kasa devices? Please note that Kasa does not support these platforms. When devices are managed through unofficially supported third-party platforms, product performance and stability cannot be guaranteed.

If you are indeed using an unsupported third-party platform, please disconnect the Kasa devices from it, ensure the product firmware is up-to-date, and then observe whether similar anomalies still occur.

I do use home assistant and understand as a company you can’t provide resources to anomalies that are related to open source platforms. This is however the biggest third party platform that exists and not having your products work with it will cost the company revenue in the long run. I’d suggest passing this info along to the product management group in charge of the KS220M.
