I bought the Re505X extender 5 years ago and never used it. Its supposed to have 2.4 & 5G capability. I have a new TMobile 5G home internet wifi box. When I sign into the app to add the extender, the extender cant find my internet even though i have them directly connected with the yellow cord (sorry, dont know the name). Is the extender too old? I cant find the TMO wifi on the list of compatible devices, so maybe thats it. If so, any work-arounds to use the extender? Also, on the app, it cant find the extender. The extender internet button just blinks.

@KimWG  If 5 yo wasn't an exaggeration, this is the link to HW V1 firmware.  You'll want to flash the latest version onto the extender, which will hopefully make it easier to setup.

If the intended purpose is to use it connected to the TMobile gateway is with an Ethernet cord connection, then you want to set it up as Access Point Mode.  If the goal is to have it connected wirelessly then the range extender mode is the correct one, and you should disconnect the cord and try again.  It should see at least the 2.4 GHz...
