I have 4 KS240 switches in my house.  2 of them operate correctly at all times.  The other 2 intermittently show red lights for the light and fan controls, then will reconnect and go white again.  I've restarted the affected switches, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.  If I restart the problem switches, they come right up and stay up for a few minutes or an hour or so, then go red again.  No other of my many KASA switches or plugs are having any connection issues, nor do anything else on my home network.  These switches are only about 2 years old.  I would hate to have to replace them so quickly.

The solid red light indicates the smart switch is disconnected from the cloud. For this issue, you may refer to the troubleshooting suggestions in this article, check Case 2. Cannot use the Kasa app to control my smart devices

same problem here, have you found a solution yet? This is extremely frustrating, because making it work requires taking the switch place off to press the reset button and having to do that on a daily basis is unacceptable. 
 

Mine worked great for about a year and then started this problem. Nothing has changed on my network, signal strength is excellent at the switch, and the best the troubleshooting can tell me in the app is to switch my router DNS which is obviously not the problem.
