Hi, I recently purchased the Tapo P115 specifically to stop charging my e‑bike battery once it reaches about 80% state of charge. At that point, the charger’s power draw drops to roughly 90 watts, so I planned to use the Charge Guard feature to automatically cut power for battery longevity.

However, I was surprised to discover that the Charge Guard upper threshold is capped at 20 watts, which is far too low for larger battery systems like e‑bikes or scooters. Because of this limit, the feature can’t be used for its most practical real‑world applications.

Could you clarify whether the 20‑watt maximum is a hardware limitation or simply a software‑defined value? And more importantly, are there any plans to increase this threshold to at least 120 watts in a future update?

If the limit cannot be raised, I’ll unfortunately need to return the device, even though it’s otherwise excellent, because it cannot perform the task I purchased it for.

Thanks for your time,
Alex
