Model: Tapo H500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.12

Just got my H500, updated it and deployed in my IoT subnet. All good. Nice little hub. As expected.

I was hoping to connect my Shelly 1 Gen 3 switch - essentially a smart relay over WiFi. Enabled Matter support, but the H500 says it can't find it.

Am I hoping for too much? The Shelly works with my Home Assistant server.

  @LarsVin,

The H500s Matter controller is limited in what types of devices it can accept. Right now, I believe that it is limited to switches, bulbs, and plugs.

The relay may be possible to add, but it would depend on how the device is seen over matter. I believe that relays are one of the few devices that can report in a few different ways.

Since you have been using it in HA, make sure that you are trying to add the matter device to the Tapo app with the correct matter sharing code (generated from Home Assistant, not on the device)
