Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.26 Build 251107 Rel.181526

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some help with a specific setting issue on my current setup (DL110, D225, and H500 hub). All devices are confirmed to be on the latest firmware.

The Problem: I am trying to completely disable the chime for the DL110 doorbell button. I’ve toggled it off in the app, but it doesn't work. The H500 hub still rings every time the button is pressed. When I check the "Ring Log" on the H500, it shows: "'Doorbell Hub' triggered the hub to ring."

What I’ve tried:

  • Toggled the chime "Off" in the DL110 settings (no effect).

  • Removed the wireless chime from the DL110 (the H500 still rings).

Why unlinking isn't a solution: I have the D225 and the DL110 linked. This integration was a key selling point for me as it allows me to unlock the DL110 directly from the D225’s live feed.

If I unlink them, and someone presses the D225 doorbell, I’d have to manually back out of the live camera feed just to unlock the door. While it’s not the end of the world, it’s a major pain point and not what I paid for.

We unintentionally hit the DL110 button quite often, and the hub ringing has become a nuisance. It seems like the "Link" status is overriding the individual chime settings.

Technical Specs:

  • Phone: Pixel 10 Pro XL

  • OS: Android

  • App Version: Tapo v3.17.109 (No new updates available)

Am I missing a hidden "Master Chime" setting for the hub, or is this a known bug where the hub ignores the "Chime Off" command for linked devices? Any help from the community or the dev team would be greatly appreciated!

Check whether the doorbell's paired chime is removed.

  • Path one: go to the door lock's Device Settings > Doorbell >Paired Chimes > click Doorbell's Chime, and remove the paired chimes below.
  • Path two: go to the doorbell's Device Settings > Doorbell > Paired Chimes, then remove the listed paired chimes.

Please review your automation settings to see whether any rules are set up to trigger the hub to ring when the doorbell or door lock is pressed. How to create Smart Action (Automation or Shortcut) on Tapo app
