I'm having an issue with at least one of my Tapo C310 cameras. A few days ago, I noticed the camera in my backyard is not switching from night mode to day mode (while in auto mode) when a motion activated floodlight turns on and increases the ambient light. (I suspect this is happening with all 4 of my C310 cameras, but have not investigated the other three cameras yet.

     This has not been an issue in the past. I'm up to date to firmware and app updates. I did try rolling back to an earlier app version with no change. Rebooted camera from app, and did a unplug, plug back in. I have not hard reset the camera yet. Wondering if this could be a firmware issue, or if I should try something else.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this problem on TP-Link community.   May I confirm whether this issue started immediately after a firmware update? If not, then it may not necessarily be caused by the firmware itself, and we may need to look into configuration or feature behavior instead.

 

For this issue, can you try to put a strong light in front of the camera, or place the camera in a room that is completely dark, then check if the day/night mode will switch on automatically.

 

Have you tried to factory reset the camera? How to Factory Reset Your Tapo Camera: Two Methods

Note: all the settings and the local recordings will be reset as well after factory resetting the camera. 

 

If the problem persists, contact our customer service team and provide the results of the above troubleshooting steps.
